Heat to Electricity Conversion

Low-grade heat is abundantly available in the form of waste heat or in the environment, which could be valuable for recycling and converting into electricity. Low-grade heat recovery will significantly help reducing greenhouse gas emission and bring tangible economic and environmental benefits. Our team focuses on the development of thermoelectrochemical cells for low-grade heat harvesting. The electrochemical system offers the opportunity to engineer entropy changes and thermal/electrical transport behaviors.
