Dr Tony Feng Shien-Ping of Department of Mechanical Engineering and his team have received IChemE Global Award 2020 for business start-up award (winner) and energy award (highly commended) regarding his research “Direct Thermal Charging Cell (DTCC)”. Dr Feng’s team was the few groups that won two awards this year.
The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Global Awards established in 1994, the Awards attract interest from all over the globe and are widely recognized as the world's most prestigious chemical engineering awards.
DTCC which can effectively convert heat to electricity, creating a huge potential to reduce greenhouse effects by capturing exhaust heat and cutting down primary energy wastage.
